Karl Barth on the Possibility and Limits of Knowing God

An essay written as part of my Grad. Dip. Theology in 2015.

Karl Barth delivered a series of lectures in 1946 that were subsequently edited into the book Dogmatics in Outline. This essay summarises the first four lectures, with particular emphasis on Barth’s understanding of how we can know anything about God. Barth’s approach is then contrasted to those of natural theology and apophatic theology.
