In the first few years that I lived in South Africa, I wrote a series of newsletters to help people understand what I was learning of SA. You’ll see them all listed below in the “Attachments” section.
Why “Sizwe”? As the first newsletter says:
Since my aim is to let you know what the real nation of SA is like, I have chosen the title “Sizwe” (pronounced seize-way) – the Zulu word for “nation”. This choice is also of personal importance because after my early friendship with some Zulu’s I was named Thula Sizwe (“Peace to the Nation”).
One of the newsletters mentions that I met The Hon Dr Chief M. Buthelezi. I’ve attached a photo as proof.
